Did you know that Spring has been celebrated throughout human history as a time of spiritual rebirth? The myth is that winter the "dying of the year" transforms us, earth, creation into newness. That is pretty awesome if you take it all in and really think on it. The German festival of Ostara in honor of the goddess Eostra, where we get the word estrogen, celebrates the cycle of life, fertility and light. The Christians recognize this time of year as Easter. This is the time of year they celebrate the rebirth of the spiritual self through the death of Christ. However you believe, we as Americans give reverence to God, our creator, for life and grace.
As the winds blow in warmer air and the flowers began to bloom, I encourage you to take a deep breath and be renewed, body, mind and spirit. Allow the season we call Spring to revive and rejuvenate you. Take time to watch the sunset, sit under the stars and let Father God and Mother Earth speak volumes to you.
