Can you believe that it's already 2 months into the new year. Time is flying by on paper airplanes and angel's wings. How wonderful it is to see the beautiful buds of Spring trying to move in and the singing birds to awaken the senses. I am excited about the change of seasons. Not that I don't love winter, because I do, but it always amazes me to see the birth of animals, new romances and dreams. Spring is the time of year when we celebrate life. Before the technological age, communities would gather together to celebrate the harvesting of crops, weddings and the survival of winter. Now things are just a little different.  We still celebrate a type of harvest and weddings but in some ways our sense of community is just a little off.  I challenge each of us this Spring to visit local farmers markets, hospitals and even church to join in the celebration of life. It will be worth while.

 

Now that the temperature is a little less frigid and we don't have the storms of summer to think of, why not enjoy community, family and those simple institutions that keep us sane and uplifted. This promises to be a wonderful year but it is up to us to think it that way. This is the time for bar b ques and park lunches, iced tea and fresh fruit tarts. Yum, the year is tasting better already!
